Julep 'It Girl' June Box

I forgot to cancel my subscription this month, so I was a bit bummed at first when I got the notification email with my tracking info. That totally changed once I received my box! Here are the three beautiful polishes that came in June's 'It Girl' box.

BESS
Bess is a (bright) light blue. As in all Julep polishes, the application is super smooth and easy. This polish is oppaque in two coats, but pictured below is three coats just to be safe. Unfortunately for me, this color gives me lobster hands! (Luckily I was able to get a few pictures where my skin tone looked normal)

CHAR
'Char' is a nice dark blue, that to me looks more like a dark blurple (blue-purple) in certain lighting. Pictured below is 2 coats plus a top coat. I love how glossy it dries!

NAN
'Nan' is sort of a dusty coral color. This is 2 easily applied coats with a top coat. This color reminds me of adobe bricks and clay pots. I feel a nail art idea coming on!

Which is your favorite?

Bellskandi Polishes

The lovely Natalie (AKA @bellskandi on Instagram) sent me four of her polishes to swatch and review. I was so excited when I opened the unexpected package! As you look through the swatches below, you will just why i was so happy! (:

HEY BETTY
'Hey Betty' is a neon pink (when warm) to pinkish brown (when cold) thermal. Do you see the color pink?? Its actually brighter in real life! The neon is gorgeous (but as with most neons, so difficult to capture). I really liked that the transition is not super fast. This gave me time to actually get good pictures. Bellow is three coats of 'Hey Betty' and a top coat. Without the top coat it has a slightly matte finish, and due to the glitters it almost has a gritty texture to it. Kind of fascinating, but alas, I smoothed it out with a top coat.
Bellskandi 'Hey Betty'

PLUMBERRY
Another gorgeous thermal! 'Plumberry' is a shimmer packed lilac (warm) to plum (cold) thermal. The transition in this polish was quicker than that of 'Hey Betty'. And thanks to the hot California weather, I had to stick my hand in a bowl of ice for the polish to change to the gorgeous dark purple and stay dark long enough for me to take a picture of it in the sun! Anyways, this is three coats (no undies) and a top coat.

D!CK CH!C RAVER
'D!ck Ch!c Raver' is a glow in the dark yellow jelly with black shred glitters and orange hex glitters. For some reason, this polish reminds me of a construction site! I love when polishes remind me of things! The glow is actually brighter than that of the picture, no matter how many pictures I took this is the brightest it would show up. I even tried taking pictures with an iPod touch, and iPhone 5, my dads Nikon camera and my Canon camera. Below is three coats with a top coat (taken with a Nikon camera).

BLUE DOLPHINS
'Blue Dolphins' is a dark blue glow in the dark that is opaque in 1-2 coats. Although it is dark blue, it glows a beautiful almost neon blue! I seriously need to buy a blacklight to be able to capture just how gorgeous the glow is! Below is 2 coats and a top coat (taken with the iPhone 5).

Cherimoya "Citified" Collection

So I've had this post sitting in my drafts for about a week (oops!) But I'm finally getting around to posting my swatches and review for the Cherimoya "Citified" Collection. The set came with six (6)  polishes. From left to right the names are: Copper, Love Drug, Green With Envy, Blood, Neon Purple, and Angel's Rave.

COPPER
'Copper' is a (wait for it....) copper polish! Shocker, right? 'Copper' is opaque in 2-3 coats. Pictured below is 2 coats with a top coat. I don't think that the picture shows the full effect of just how metallic this polish really is!

LOVE DRUG
'Love Drug' is a purple jelly with with blurple (blue-purple) shimmer. Since this polish is a jelly, it takes 3-4 coats to reach opacity. Below is four coats plus a top coat.
GREEN WITH ENVY
'Green With Envy' is a metallic neon green. that's right, metallic AND neon! It takes 3 coats for this polish to be opaque. I think this was one of my favorites from the collection! In addition to being neon, and metallic, it also has a slight gold shimmer. I just loooooved staring at this polish while i was wearing it!

BLOOD
My other favorite polish from the "Citified" collection was 'Blood'. This is a gorgeous bright red! usually red washes out my skin tone making me look sickly pale, but not with this polish. This polish was probably the easiest one to apply, plus unline many other reds, this one did not stain! Below is three coats plus a top coat.

NEON PURPLE
'Neon Purple' is actually more of a fuschia than a purple. These pictures (as well as the pictures for other swatches) are color accurate. This polish also has a slight silver shimmer. Below is 2 coats with a top coat.

ANGEL'S RAVE
'Angel's Rave' is a black jelly with silver hex and bar glitters, as well as a few red hex glitters. The only think i didn't like was that I had to fish for the red glitters, and I still only got a few. This is 3 coats with a top coat.

Application for all of the polishes was a 7 from a 1-10 scale. I really loved the colors though! I bought this set at Ross for $5.99, so the next time you're at Ross make sure you check the Beauty section!

Live Life Polished

So this weekend I received a package from Tammy (owner of Live Life Polished) containing my order from her shop, as well as a few minis for me to swatch and review.

'BLUE LAGOON'
The first polish I swatched was one that I purchased from her shop. 'Blue lagoon is a lovely blue/green thermal. When warm 'Blue lagoon is an interesting shade of green that reminds me of murky water. When cold, 'Blue Lagoon' is a very nice deep blue.   I love that this thermal doesn't transition TOO quickly. A full transition takes a few minutes, enough time to get out the camera and snap a few pictures. Pictured below is 'Blue Lagoon in three light coats'. 'Blue Lagoon is available for purchase in the Live Life Polished store.

'WARM ME UP'
The other polish that I ordered was 'Warm Me Up' a blue to purple thermal. When warm 'Warm Me Up' is a brilliant bright blue! And a nice deep purple when cold. Since the colors are very near, the transition was a bit harder to capture. The transition time for this polish is relatively quicker than that of 'Blue Lagoon'. Pictured below is two coats of 'Warm Me Up'. This polish is available for purchase in the Live Life Polished shop.

'NIGHT TIME MADNESS'
The first mini that I swatched from Live Life Polished was 'Night Time Madness' a disappearing black thermal. Below is three coats. When warm, 'Night Time Madness is a light gray, that gradually turns darker as the heat disappears. What I liked most about this polish, was that it had some silver shimmer, as well as black, teal, and silver holo glitters. This polish was just released yesterday!

'TOP SECRET'
Another polish that was just released was 'Top Secret'. This easily became my new favorite glitter topper! Shown below is a single coat of 'Top Secret' over Essie 'No More Film' on the index and middle finger, and black on the ring and pinky finger. 'Top Secret' has a clear base that is LOADED with opalescent purple shimmer. I added a picture of my swatch that was a bit out of focus so you could see just how much shimmer there is!

A different angle shot of 'Top Secret'

In addition to the two polishes that were just released, Tammy sent me two brand new polishes that will be released on June 1st. I was lucky enough to be the first person to own and swatch 'Stuck In The Middle' and 'Peaches and cream'.

'STUCK IN THE MIDDLE'
'Stuck In The Middle' has a creamy white base with teal, silver, and black hex glitters, as well as some black micro glitter. Shown below is one coat of 'Stuck In The Middle' over white. Application was smooth, and there was no need to fish out the glitters! I really liked that the white in this polish wasn't "over the top". There are some white based polishes that are just TOO white, but I think this polish was the opposite! The glitters definitely helped balance out the brightness of the white.

'PEACHES AND CREAM'
The last polish that Tammy sent for review was 'Peaches and Cream'. This polish has a peachy nude base that is the perfect shade! Not to mention all the added pink, orange, and silver hex glitters. This was as close to color accurate as I could get the picture. The color is just a tad bit brighter in person. Either way, its perfect for the summer!

'Blue Lagoon', 'Warm Me Up', 'Night Time Madness' and 'Top Secret' are already available for purchase at livelifepolished.storenvy.com

'Stuck In The Middle' and 'Peaches and Cream' will be relesed on June 1st.

If you head on over to the shop be sure to use the code: '10off' for 10% off your order!

Fuse Nail Polish

Recently, I recieved a couple polishes of Fuse nail polish to swatch and review. Carolyn and Nefertiti, the two sides of Fuse, sent me 'Zombie Snot' and 'Red Delicious'. Fuse Nail Polish is a 3-free indie brand.

ZOMBIE SNOT
This clear base polish is LOADED with matte black circle glitters, with a dash of hex glitters in bright green and lime green. I layered just ONE coat of 'Zombie Snot' over Wet n Wild 'Caribbean Frost'. The teal color contrasted with the neon green hexes and really brought them out! Application was very smooth and easy. I did have to fish for the green glitters at first, but after a quick bottle shake, the glitters were re-distributed and easy to catch.

RED DELICIOUS
'Red Delicious' has a slightly tinted red base packed with gold, magenta, and red hex glitters. This polish could twist any mani! I think this polish has the possibility to look great as a topper to a large spectrum of different colors. To show this, I added a coat of 'Red Delicious' over black, as well as a coat over China Glaze 'Merry Berry'. When layered over black, it gives off a sense of attitude and power! I absolutely love it over black!

Iron Man 3

So it is no secret that I absolutely love superheroes! In honor of Iron Man 3, I decided to do Iron Man nails.

I got this idea from www.polishbabble.blogspot.com who did this mani when Iron man 2 came out.

For the ring finger I painted the Iron Man Mask using Color Club 'Red-ical Gypsy' and Essie 'Good As Gold'. For the middle finger and pinky I used Zoya 'Storm' as the background as Essie 'As Good As Gold' for the lettering. My favorite parts of my mani were my ring finger and thumb. This was the first time I tried to draw something so small with so much detail!

I was extremely happy with how they came out! It saddened me when I had to take them off today. But, you can expect that I will be doing more superhero nailart soon! If you have any suggestions for superheroes (or any suggestions at all) just comment below(:

Pink Ombré

I wanted to go simple today, so instead of nail art (which I have seriously been lacking lately) I did a pink ombre (gradient? Whatever it's called).

I used Color Club 'Sugar Sheer' as the base as well as the lightest color. On top of 'Sugar Sheer' I sponged on Color Club 'Flamingo' and 'Warhol'.

I am seriously in love with these! I usually don't paint my nails pink because I feel like it's too girly for me, but I would most likely do these on myself again!
